Hi yall.

It's been a while I've neen upgrading my setup. Need few tips where to invest regards to running BOS now and future.

I have still the same setup I got for clod.

Intel i5 2500K @3.3Ghz
8gb 1600 ddr3
gtx 670 1,5 Gb.
128gb SSD -this is new weee... ;)

I was thinking i7 or i5 4th gen?
16 Gb ram
GTX 780/970

I've also been streaming tanks on twitch but quality is very bad (loosing frames) @720p and it has big hit on fps.

Your thoughts?

-Mika

S! Mika.

i7 is the way forth. However, I have an i5-4670k CPU 3.40GHz.
8GB RAM
GeForce GTX 600 and runs BoS and War Thunder smoothly.

Hi Mika
If you can hang on till summer the 5th gen will be out.
Lower tdp, some more features and some more horsepower.
Still the same MoBo as 4th gen so overall price will only be the differance between the CPUs.

If you are not doing video editing or 3d rendering, i5 is the sweet spot.
Very few games use multi threading.

I have the same setup as you have, just a GTX970 and OC to 4.1 GHz and it still runs quite well,
even with a triple monitor setup.

I will wait for the Broadwell unlocked CPU.
Probably going i7 though as I'm doing some video editing.
Otherwise I would stay at i5.
...och inled mig inte i frestelsen..jag hittar själv.

A little update here. (All second hand.)

I got i5 4690K, Asus GTX 780 OC, Asus ranger 7 mobo and antec kuhler 620 watercooler. Still looking into getting more memory since 8 gigs isn't that much. Maybe 2*8 gb @1866. My old memory will probably work on z97 though it was designed to work on z68. Hmm...

While I'm at it I should get bigger case and new PSU :D This is sickness I tell you...

Aga, don't worry bout the 8GB RAM. It's not going to make a difference in games to go to 16GB. Don't worry about speed either on those RAM's. GTX 780 will last you some time as well. Ofcourse, there is always better things coming out around the corner, but then wait 2 months and check market after release of new AMD 390-top card and GTX 980Ti...
More PSU? You need a good 550-650W PSU for top end single GPU nowadays. If you go SLI on NVIDIA then I'd say 750W, with AMD 850W for CF of top end.
A large case is always nice to build in.. and no problem if you have the space. I'm looking at getting an Aerocool DS Cube (or similar) in micro-ATX format as my next chassi.. I'm going smaller..! :)

But mum.. Please!
